A fixed price menu at a restaurant is a meal consisting of two or three courses, a side of bread, drinks, coffee and/or desserts which are all included in the total price, in such a way that you know exactly what you are going to pay before you sit at the table, with no surprises in your bill unless you want to order fine wine or other alcoholic drinks aside from your menu.
While they are not comparable to the absolute bargain of buffet and all-you-can-eat establishments, they still constitute an excellent option to get plentiful, healthy and delicious lunch or dinner and save a good deal of money at the same time. Welcoming thousands of visitors who arrive in the city for business and leisure purposes every day, Barcelona’s restaurants could not ignore this modality.
Below, there are our three suggestions for set price menus in the Catalan capital.
Fixed price menus at Mamacafé Restaurant in the Raval quarter of Barcelona
Mamacafé (www.mamacaferestaurant.com) is located at Doctor Dou street, in Barcelona. Their set-price menus may cost from 10 to 15 euros, depending on the moment of the day: at night and during the weekends, the fixed price rises a bit, but it is undoubtedly worth it. With two courses, a side of bread, one drink and a dessert or a cup of coffee all included, you can choose among fresh pasta dishes, salads, fish and meats, or typically Mediterranean specialties such as the “huevos rotos” with potatoes and shrimp.
Packs and menus at Restaurante Dune in Barcelona
In the heart of the Eixample district and with amazing views to the city of Barcelona, the Dune restaurant (www.dunerestaurante.com) offers fixed price options for two-course meals consisting of the most exquisite and traditional Catalan cuisine. The menu price ranges between 9 and 14 euros per person.
